Victoria is a historic fortress that is located right in the center of the city of Ambon. The oldest fort in Ambon was built by the Portuguese in 1775, which was subsequently taken over by the Dutch. Netherlands later founded this fort as the center of government to plunder the wealth of indigenous peoples, such as spices are abundant in the earth Maluku.



In the reign of the Netherlands, the fort is a strategic function, namely as a center of colonial rule. In front of the castle there is a port that is used as a pathway sea transportation between islands.
